Rolex Explorer II A Fine Watch
I bought a Rolex watch in Zermatt, Switzerland a few years ago when I went there for a trip. I paid about $2000 for the watch and was expecting to sell it. I just kind of kept it and still have it today.
I ended up just keeping the watch rather than selling it. The watch is water resistant up to 100 meters and is made from stainless steel. I do a bit of diving time to time so it was deep enough for me. The watch works perfectly underwater.
The Rolex Explorer watch weighs 8 ounces. I am not arthritic so I can deal with the weight, though if you do suffer joint pain you might want to go for a lighter watch. The watch has an hour, minute, time zone, second hand and a date much like the original explorer.
The date is in magnified by a bubble and the way the second hand ticks is very smooth. In addition there is a red hand that is set to your home time zone which is on the front of the watch. It is also very easy for you to adjust the black hand.
There is a red hand on the front of the watch. The red hand is your home time zone and when take a trip you can adjust the black hour hand which takes just a few seconds. The watch comes in two dial colors a black or white dial. My Rolex has the white dial and it looks still after 7 years.
The watch system is automatic, meaning there is a half weighted pendulum that powers the mainspring. The mainspring then powers the other springs and gears which in turn powering the watch. The watch has a clutch system that makes sure you don't over wind it.
Most people who see my watch don't know right away that it is a rolex. This is not a bad thing, unless you are looking for a watch to show off to everyone. On the positive side this watch is great for ownership and a fine watch.
Lastly this watch glass piece is made from Sapphire crystals. This means that you won't have to worry about getting scratches or dents from daily use. When it comes time to pass it down, the watch will still look great.
